Sugar Broiled Grapefruit
Grapefruit for Dessert?
Satisfy that late-night sweet tooth with this delicious grapefruit recipe that won’t derail your diet. With just 2 tsp of sugar and a sprinkle of salt, this desert is easy to execute and is low in sugar and carbs.
Grapefruits have been known to be a fad diet food, but they can also serve as a vessel for a sweet and succulent dessert.
INGREDIENTS
2 Ruby Grapefruits
8 tsp. sugar (2 tsp. for each fruit half
Salt to taste
RECIPE
Set oven to broil, and place cooking rack to the top of the oven.
Cut grapefruits in halve, and cut around each wedge with a knife, so they can easily scoop out with a spoon.
Set grapefruits on a baking sheet, be sure to leave space between each one.
Sprinkle with sugar
Broil for 5-8 minutes. Don’t walk away! Every broiler is different. Once you see bubbling and golden edges, grapefruits are done!
Sprinkle with salt
