Organic Turnip Greens

Turnips are back! When farming organically, we can always expect imperfect greens in late summer to early fall. Since we grow organically and support beneficial insects, we do not use pesticides. Sometimes we have to remember that if a bug took a bite and lived to tell the tale, the produce must be organic.

Some of you may be asking, “What are these little holes in the turnip greens?” Do not let them deter you from enjoying one of the most versatile vegetables around. Those holes are from beetles that thrive in hot weather. In the cooler weather, you can expect our greens to be hole-free.

The greens are still good to use for sautés, soups, or raw in a salad. For more tips on storage, and recipe inspiration, check out our blog post: Three Ways to Cook Turnips.

Enjoy!
