The Midwife & The Baker

IMG_8888.JPG

Our love (loaf?) affair with The Midwife & The Baker (MTB) was love at first croissant. Then second scone. Then third loaf of Whole Wheat.

We’ve grown together, separately, over the years. Farmer Sam has fond memories of stopping by Mac’s market stall up in Temescal for “the best baguette” whenever he was scouting out the future farmers market competition. Right as Spade & Plow got its start in 2015. Our paths crossed again 3 year ago when Spade & Plow joined it’s second farmers market, the Mountain View Farmers Market, and was kitty-corner to the doughy pastries and smiles.

Guess what? The love affair continues. We are smitten with MTB’s flavor, flare, texture, and quality. They bake upwards of 150 loaves of bread a week for our CSA members. If you haven’t had the olive bread, then you haven’t (o)lived! These guys have our trust through their crust and through the integrity they put into what they do.

The latest at S&P: CSA Manager Tyler won’t stop talking about the bread pudding he made with the Walnut Currant loaf. We’re swooning, too.

So glad to be serving and growing together in Santa Clara County!
